Pantone 2020 Color of the Year: Classic Blue

It’s here! Pantone’s 2020 Color of the Year is Classic Blue 19-4052.

While Classic Blue might not immediately be the first color you think of to incorporate into your wedding, you might be surprised to learn just how perfect Pantone’s color of the year is for celebrating the union of two people.

According to Pantone, this enduring blue hue instills calmness, confidence, and connection, and “highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.”

It goes without saying that 2020 indeed represents a new decade in everyone’s lives. But choosing to marry your lives together in this year also represents an entirely new era as a couple as well. Marriages are built on dependable and stable foundations, too, and we don’t know if there could possibly be a more perfect color to embody a wedding ceremony.

Plus, Classic Blue makes a really cool accent color. Trust us.

You can easily incorporate this pop-of-color blue into everything from wedding invitations to flowers to the groomsmen’s suits. Or, if you really want to indulge, you even could help yourself to a decadent blue macaroon.

And we’re definitely a little biased on this next part, being based in gorgeous Santa Barbara after all, but Classic Blue is also described as a “contemplation of where sky and sea meet.” Translation: we think this color fits right in here.

Here are some of our favorite ways to use Classic Blue in 2020:

Wedding One: Images 1, 2, 3 and 4

Classic Blue shines everywhere in this wedding, from the invitations to the ceremony to the reception, and of course, the bride’s stunning bouquet, too.

Wedding Two: Image 5

This bride and groom used blue as a gorgeous yet understated accent color by utilizing small pops of it throughout their reception. You can see it mixed in with other hues in the flowers, as well as the blue goblets on the tables.

In the final images, we’re swooning over the bride’s choices to step outside the traditional.

In images 10 and 11, one of the brides chose to ditch the white wedding dress and go for blue, and we have to say, she looks GORGEOUS. See more of this Real Wedding over on our blog post, Heartwarming Wedding to Remember by Willa Kveta.
