Capture Romantic Moments with Elizabeth Victoria Photography

Elizabeth Victoria has a passion for catching each sweet moment and sight that make up weddings, elopements, and engagement sessions. Through her years of photography experience, specifically throughout southern California, she understands how to help couples get the most out of their experience and create photographs they can cherish for years to come. We completed a deep dive interview with Elizabeth where she shared her most important tips for couples and her favorite locations to shoot weddings.

Q - What are your top 3 wedding locations you have ever photographed a wedding or elopement at, and why?

A - San Ysidro Ranch - Because it's intimate and gorgeous but has the space for larger weddings yet still with a private vibe. The grounds are beautiful and there are so many places for amazing photos.

The Biltmore - The property itself is really pretty, and it has several picturesque areas around the grounds as well as in the hotel. The architecture adds some interesting elements, and I love the classic fountain outside. It's right across from Butterfly Beach which gives so many more options for photography.

Unico 20º87º Riviera Maya - This is hands down the nicest all-inclusive resort I have ever been to. I had a wedding there and it was amazing. The whole property is beautiful and they have several really unique areas for photos. I also love a good beach wedding, and with the Caribbean Sea as a backdrop, you can't go wrong!

Q - What is the #1 advice you give to couples about wedding photos?

A - Find a photographer that you not only love their work and you can see yourselves in their images, but a photographer who you feel comfortable with. Having a good connection with your photographer will make the entire experience feel so much more relaxed and natural. You'll enjoy your wedding more and that will be reflected in your photos.

Q - What is your number one engagement session tip for couples?

A - I always have my couples bring a backup outfit even if they chose a collection that doesn't include a wardrobe change. You may get to the session location and realize what you brought doesn't work as well, or maybe you spill something on yourself while driving, or you want my advice on what will look best. I also always recommend layers. If the weather changes you can be more comfortable, and it also allows you quick wardrobe change for more variety.

Q - What are 2 things you wish couples would do regarding photography?

A - I know this doesn't come as easy for everyone, but it's always so nice to work with a couple that isn't afraid to be intimate in front of the camera. I don't like overly posed images and the more comfortable a couple is together the easier my job is to get them looking amazing. I can definitely direct couples enough where it looks natural even if they are a bit shy with PDA, but it's always refreshing when it just comes naturally to them.

A lot of my business comes from word of mouth, so I always love when my couples tag or credit me when they post their photos. It also makes me feel like they really valued me as their photographer which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Q - What is your favorite wedding you have ever photographed and why?

A - While some locations are better than others, the people really make the experience. Whenever I'm asked this question I always think of Sarah and Jeremy's wedding at Walnut Grove. They are such a great couple and so fun to be around. Their entire (very large) bridal party were all amazing to work with, and everyone seemed like they were having so much fun. Their families were all really sweet and welcoming, and the location was beautiful. When the end of the night came around I had no idea it was time to leave since I was enjoying it so much. I love most of the weddings I photograph, but I'm always very aware of what time it is, especially when it's near the end of the night. This wedding I didn't want the night to end.
