Citrus Wedding Inspiration by Megan Sorel

Held at the elegant Santa Barbara Four Seasons this couple chose to base their wedding day design around bright citrus and herbs for a truly on-of-a-kind experience. Floral designer Mindy Rice executed the concept flawlessly with citrus trees at the outdoor ceremony, plus oranges were sprinkled throughout the reception incorporated into centerpieces, included in the floral arrangements, and even adorned the three-tier wedding cake.

The bride chose a fitted trumpet wedding gown by Vera Wang and her bridesmaids sported floral crowns and nude, lace dresses. Lush bridesmaids' bouquets included garden roses, dusty miller, and petite cumquats. As the ceremony commenced, guests sat in varying wooden pews and wicker wedding chairs—provided by Elan Event Rentals and Archive Vintage Rentals—and later showered the couple in raining flower petals as they made their way back down the ceremony aisle.

A reception dinner was held in the venue’s El Mar room with long reception tables setup for guests seating. Florentine chargers from Casa de Perrin and fringed napkins from BBJ La Tavola added texture to each place setting. But, our favorite steal-worthy idea? The couple's getaway car with its hand-painted "Just Married" sign accented with bay leaves and citrus on the branch.

All was expertly planned and produced by wedding planner Alexandra Kolendrianos and captured by photographer Megan Sorel.
