Butterfly Beach is a secret Santa Barbara treasure for gorgeous wedding photos, and it comes by its graceful and alluring name honestly. The local favorite spot is also in a prime location right across the street from The Four Seasons Biltmore in Montecito.

As a public beach, events in the area do draw some attention. So, the most ideal times for a wedding at Butterfly Beach is mid-morning or late afternoon so your wedding can remain focused on you and your guests. Butterfly Beach is one of the few which face west along the Santa Barbara coastline, making it a remarkable setting during those California sunsets. Plus, if you’re lucky, there may be some dolphin or even whale sightings during your event.

As it is a fairly narrow beach, the venue is more appropriate for a smaller, intimate beach wedding. Because of this, couples should also be aware of the tides as they plan their wedding day.
