Why I Do This

Decades ago, I was a national trainer for Four Seasons, teaching service standards in rooms full of people who’d never met each other before 9 am and were trusted colleagues by 5. That’s the thing nobody tells you about hospitality — the magic isn’t the thread count or the plating; it’s the culture, what happens when you put the right people in a room and give them a reason to actually talk to each other.

I brought that with me into weddings, then into nonprofit galas, and now into whatever this next chapter is. Somewhere in 25 years of building events for other people, I started building a few just for us — the vendors, the planners, the people doing the quiet, unglamorous work of making someone else’s biggest day come together. We don’t often get invited to the party. So I started throwing our own.

That’s where these showcase events come from — not a marketing calendar, a real want to get my community in a room, learning something new, meeting someone they should know, and remembering why we all got into this business in the first place.
