Zohe’s Eye:

I've produced a lot of events. And I can tell you with complete authority that some of them surprise even me. This was one of those nights. Madeline of I Love You Maddly Weddings & Events took the Live Oak Unitarian campus and turned it into something I genuinely didn't see coming — and I instigated it. Every corner had something happening. Something real. Something that made every vendor in the room think: couples need to see this. And thanks to I Magic. That's what happens.

Our Spring Wedding Showcase at Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Goleta was one of those evenings that reminds you exactly why you chose this industry. Madeline of I Love You Maddly Weddings & Events took a stunning campus and filled every corner of it with creativity, intention, and the kind of energy that's genuinely hard to put into words.

So we'll let the video do it instead.

What Unfolded Across the Campus

The terrace buzzed with craft cocktails from Smoking Gun Bar Staffing, gorgeous boards from JeanieC Charcuterie, and wood-fired pizzas from Santa Barbara Hives — who also showed up with local honey and handcrafted soaps that became the most-talked-about table of the night. DJ Bouquet Sound kept the energy alive across the entire campus.

Inside the Indoor Sanctuary, Lotus Healing Studio created a sound bath experience so enveloping that guests lingered long past when they planned to leave. In Fellowship Hall, Artistry by Adonna had people painting — and discovering they were better at it than they thought. A Pretty Little Posie guided guests through bouquet making while flooding every corner of the campus with stunning florals.

And at 7:15 PM, guests gathered in the Outdoor Sanctuary as models Daniel Ramirez and Roxy Ozuna brought a full mock ceremony to life — gown by The Dress Bridal Couture, hair and makeup by Sara Pacheco Beauty, officiated by Julia Garcia, with cake by Cakes by Heather Ashley and a champagne toast.

Then a rocket launched overhead. Because, of course, it did.

It's the video from Trent of Jasper & Oak that stops me every time I watch it.

I mean, yes, photographs capture a moment. Video captures the feeling of the room.

The energy on the terrace. The quiet magic of the sound bath. The laughter in Fellowship Hall. The crispness of the champagne. The connections happening in real time between vendors who hadn't seen each other in months.

To every couple reading this: if video isn't in your budget yet — move it up. Your wedding day will move faster than any day of your life, and you will not remember everything. Video gives it back to you. Years from now, in full, the way it actually felt.

What This Was Really About

Beyond the pizza and the sound bath and the rocket — what made this evening extraordinary was watching connections form in real time. Vendors who hadn't crossed paths in months. New faces feeling instantly welcomed. Collaborations that will show up in real weddings for years to come.

That's what being part of Santa Barbara Wedding actually looks like. Not just a listing. A community that shows up for each other.

Madeline — thank you for your vision. Live Oak — thank you for being a venue that says yes to everything. And Trent — thank you for making sure none of us have to rely on memory alone.
