Some weddings just feel right from the very beginning, and this was one of them. From the start, the biggest question mark was the venue. Traditional spaces didn’t quite match Megan and Ethan’s vibe—they wanted something that felt like them. More than anything, they wanted their guests to experience Santa Barbara the way they do: easy, intimate, and fun. That vision led them to Santa Barbara Wine Collective and Pearl Social.

The reception was full of personality. Guests were welcomed with Aperol Spritzes before diving into Lucky Penny Pizza, with bright florals by Boho Chic Dreams bringing everything to life. From there, the party moved to Pearl Social, where a ~20 disco ball installation completely transformed the space. It was lively, high-energy, and exactly the kind of celebration they envisioned.

In contrast, their ceremony was intentionally intimate. Held earlier in the week on Wednesday at the Courthouse with immediate family, it was simple and meaningful. Ethan’s father, a children’s storybook writer, officiated—making the ceremony especially engaging and heartfelt. Minimal rentals and soft florals by Gracie let the beauty of the Courthouse shine.

What made the day truly memorable were the personal, untraditional details. A glam photo booth, linen signage, and parasols added thoughtful touches. Megan switched up her look with a scarf for Friday, while Ethan paired his suit with high-top Converse. Their officiant’s socks read, “Only Hot Bitches are Wedding Officiants,” and they rode off in a vintage car after the ceremony.

The flow felt natural to them: a Wednesday courthouse ceremony, followed by a Friday reception at SB Wine Collective and dancing at Pearl Social. Gavin handled ceremony music, while Dart kept the dance floor going all night. A celebration that felt effortless, personal, and entirely their own.
