Private Elopement at Mattei's Tavern and Dovecote Estate Winery
From Allie Dearie Photography:
Margie and Scott had the sweetest elopement at The Inn at Mattei's Tavern and Dovecote Estate Winery! The Los Olivos region is special for them, and they traveled from Atlanta to return and add wedding memories to this beautiful place.
On a gorgeous October day, they shared a relaxing morning at the inn, where they got ready together in their cottage. Then we took portraits on the grounds — stopping at the landmark water tower, the greenhouse by the Barn, the porch of the historic tavern, and inside at the tavern as well. Since they stay at this property each time they visit Los Olivos, it was a meaningful location to capture their elopement portraits before we drove out to Dovecote Wine for their ceremony.
A small vineyard in Los Alamos, Dovecote was one of their favorites from the last time they visited, and the pond and stately oak were a perfect place for their intimate ceremony. General manager & assistant winemaker Cameron welcomed Scott and Margie to the vineyard with a tasting at The Shack on Mission Pond. We said “hello” to the resident highland cows on site, walked up the hill to view the vineyards and rolling hills from above, and then it was time for their ceremony.
They shared personal vows under the Live Oak tree by the water's edge. After the ceremony concluded, they took a sweet moment to pause and enjoy the afternoon sun on the dock of the pond. Then we danced back up the road to the tasting shack for a celebratory toast! It was calm and joyful, relaxed and warm, and perfectly their own day. That’s what eloping is all about!
