Love in Full Bloom: A Handcrafted Los Olivos Wedding

Chris and I live on campus at the Midland School, a nature-based high school in Los Olivos. This place is so beautiful, backed up against the Los Padres Forest, and has become like home, filled with colleagues who have now become family. It was so special to have our wedding here because our guests got to stay in the student dorms over the summer break. It felt a bit like summer camp in the best way. We grew all of our flowers for the wedding on our campus farm, and our amazing kitchen director made all of the incredible food. It really felt like a community effort.
Amazing Day Events did an incredible job making the wedding feel seamless. I was completely relaxed the day of and got to really enjoy the moment. We had amazing vendors: Liquid Cult for cocktails and service, Santa Ynez Elite Event Rentals, Luxury Loos, Nikki Reden Hair, and DART Collective DJs. Working with Grace Kathryn Photography was amazing! Grace completely understood our vision of making sure our photos highlighted the simple beauty of this place. She got great shots and also let us stay in the moment with minimal time away from our reception. We could not be happier with the photos and look forward to having them to remember this day forever.

This Los Olivos wedding holds such a special place in my heart because of how deeply personal and intentional every detail was. The bride and her dear friend spent months planting, growing, and tending to all the florals right there on the Midland property, and you could feel that love woven into every bloom and arrangement throughout the day. But what really captured my heart was how relaxed and at-home everything felt—there was no pretense, just genuine joy and celebration. When the bride and groom arrived at their own ceremony in a golf cart, laughing and beaming as they drove themselves down the aisle, it perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the entire day: authentic, joyful, and completely them.
Working with this incredible vendor team made the day flow seamlessly, and as a photographer, there's nothing better than being surrounded by professionals who are as invested in the couple's vision as I am. Every corner of this private estate wedding told a story, from the garden-fresh centerpieces to the golden summer light filtering through the trees. This is exactly the kind of wedding that reminds me why I love what I do—it wasn't about perfection, it was about connection, celebration, and creating something beautiful together. I'm honored to have documented this love story and thrilled to share it with the Santa Barbara wedding community.
