Creating beautiful images is my passion, and capturing your most precious memories is an honor. The images we cherish most typically aren't the clean, perfectly posed moments of our lives. Our favorites are those that capture the cackling laugh at your best friend's dad jokes, or when the dog can't stay out of the shot with his two favorite humans. While I'm happy to capture the former with plenty of TLC, the latter holds my heart. I've spent nearly a decade photographing weddings, pets and families, honing my skills so that when those moments arrive, my camera and I are ready for them.
Each wedding is a new adventure, each couple unique, bringing endless new opportunities to create magic. Authenticity and fun inspire each of my photos, and I strive to capture real moments, big squishy hugs, and belly laughs.

My photojournalism style of photography incorporates a little bit of mood but is bold and true to color. Put me in a dark room with a camera and I love it just as much as a bright sunny beach day. I love weddings and I understand how important they are to people. Weddings are huge life events with different emotional peaks that should be documented creatively... and that is something I specialize in. When my couples look at their photos, I want them to relive the emotions and feelings captured in the image every time. Wedding photo journalism is so important to me because it is vivid and alive, which is something I am so passionate about. Not only am I the eyes on the wedding day but I want to understand the vision and make it come to life from beginning to end. From beautiful heirloom details, to dancing the night away with your besties, my job is to document ALL of it. Seeing someone blown away by their own photograph makes me feel inspired and accomplished. It is an amazing indescribable feeling and the core reason why I am a wedding photographer.

Head & Heart is a locally focused, exclusive membership photography collective created with the purpose of finding the most talented and motivated local photographers, and connecting them with couples and clients looking to book a photographer whose work and personality they can be confident in. Each member photographer has gone through an application process that consists of a detailed online questionnaire requiring information about their experience, skills, goals and more, an in-person interview with me (Kiel Rucker), and (when opportunity permits) shooting with me on one of my weddings or projects. I do not invite a photographer to be a part of Head & Heart unless I am confident in their talent, personality, experience and their potential to grow as individuals and photographers.
