Even before quarantine, we had a special love in our hearts for backyard weddings. Now that wedding dates are postponed & small celebrations from home are becoming the trend we suspect there are a fair amount of couples wondering how best to transform their home into a proper wedding venue.
Thus we have this gorgeous, tropical intimate wedding inspiration from Ojai, California. Warm, stylish, fecund with foliage & cozy as can be, the same-sex styled shoot from White Sage Weddings & Events inspires so many great ideas you can implement in your own backyard wedding.
Some ideas we’re taking away: If you don’t have loads of folding chairs hanging around your home (who does?) consider a more “cozy” ceremony space set with antique rugs (that you can keep commemorating your wedding), Moroccan poufs and pillows and fuzzy shearling rugs. And to decorate the space? Find a local nursery who will rent out tropical trees & bushes as they’ll fill the space with drama and color without much need of floral arranging.

We are pleased to release Light & Space, a yoga, meditation, music and healing arts studio as a new event venue offering! This space is a mirror representation of its setting, Ojai, California, both small, intimate, and private. Styling this bright clean canvas with lush green plants and cozy soft seating quickly transformed the space into a sacred backdrop. Not to forget the intimate backyard perfect for hosting small dinners accented by a modern pyramid fire pit and Ojai pink moment sky views.
Nothing about this shoot was standard or formal. We choose complimentary suits for this same-sex couple. One model in a dusty pink and mustard velvet tie. The other in a neutral brown suit and standard necktie.
