Planning a wedding is no small task, and Events by Tania knows a thing or two about making the process feel a whole lot more manageable. Led by Tania Trombetta, the Southern California-based planning and design company has more than 25 years of experience bringing weddings and events to life, with a focus on thoughtful details, beautiful design, and making each celebration feel like it actually belongs to the couple.
We wanted to get a better look at what happens behind the scenes, so we gathered intel from Tania to hear more about her approach to wedding planning, where she finds inspiration, and what she loves most about the job. Here’s a little glimpse into the world of Events by Tania.
Q - What is your favorite location where you prefer to plan client weddings? What is the style that makes this location special for couples?
One of my favorite locations in Santa Barbara is University Club of Santa Barbara / Riviera Mansion. I love the history of the building and that it's just steps away from the court house making it a beautiful location for ceremony and reception. The location lends itself to a blank pallet for many styles for couples.
Q - What is your #1 top piece of advice you give to couples before they hire you?
I ask the couple to identify their top priorities for the wedding. I always joke about not fighting over the small stuff like napkins.
I feel so blessed that we truly live in an area where it's community over competition and that my biggest advice is to follow their gut when meeting with planners. Even if we aren't a good fit there is such a great pool of talent to choose from.
Q - What is trending with your couples?
The biggest trend is having a small cut cake instead of a tiered cake with additional options of desserts such as a fun cart offering churros, paletas, ice cream...
Q - What are 2 things you wish couples would do for every wedding?
#1 - I wish that they would be mindful of staying together so they can experience the celebration as a team rather than being pulled in separate directions.
#2 - Budget a videographer because although pictures are extremely important in my experience it is the couples biggest regret is not having a video.
Q - To date, what wedding have you planned that made the top of your favorite list, and why
This is a very hard question for me to answer, because I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to work with wonderful couples and their families and at the end of the day what I love most is connecting with people.
