Zaca Lake Wedding Straight Out of a Magazine
Set against the serene waters of Zaca Lake in the Santa Barbara hills, this wedding felt straight out of a movie — modern, romantic, and effortlessly stylish. Guests arrived the day before to enjoy the secluded setting, with some even taking canoes out on the lake before the festivities began.
The ceremony took place overlooking the water, framed by tall trees and soft light. The bride, captured beautifully on film by Alanna Durkee, debuted the first of her three looks — each one distinct, from her sleek ceremony gown to a chic reception change and a playful late-night ensemble.
Planned by Laine Palm Planning and designed by Whitney James Event + Design, the day struck a perfect balance between elegance and the natural surroundings. Under a canopy of trees, guests enjoyed grilled halibut, arugula salad, and savory sides prepared by Woodfired Craft Catering. Tables featured Waterford glassware, minimalist floral centerpieces by Brophy Blooms, and warm candlelight. A delicate two-tier yellow cake with pearl details, crafted by Kady Lone, completed the scene.
Music transitioned seamlessly from a live Pink Mozart quartet during the ceremony to an energetic dance floor curated by DJ Isabella Behravan. Guests were transported by Jump on the School Bus, adding a playful touch, while Jill Elaine’s modern stationery tied the entire aesthetic together.
It was a celebration of refined style and natural beauty — a lakeside gathering that felt as timeless as it did personal.
