Couple being followed by mariachi band

Today’s wedding was extra special for Margaret Lloyd, owner of Margaret Joan Florals. Not only did she provide lush flower arrangements for the event, but the beautiful bride was also her niece. Along with the bride's mother and a couple of close friends, Margaret Joan helped plan the affair, including the selection of linens and the menu at the El Paseo Restaurant.

The wedding was truly personal and a family affair with Margaret’s daughter, the bride’s cousin, selected as a bridesmaid, along with Dominique Calvillo, of Beautie by Dominique, who also helped out with hair and makeup. The officiant was also the bride’s uncle, Chris Dusseault, a very successful lawyer.

For this family, the number 13 is lucky. So, the couple selected a date of Friday, March 13th for their wedding. To help keep the guest count down within their large family, the bride and groom strategically chose a Friday date and didn’t allow children at the reception.

Lerina Winter helped to capture the day including all the vivid colors throughout the ceremony and reception, and the Spanish-inspired details at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. In true Spanish style, the Mariachi Reyes USA led the wedding party and guests all the way from the ceremony venue to the El Paseo Restaurant and then performed for the first hour of the reception. The couple along with their guests enjoyed dancing to the music—and topping off the evening, Jeanine’s Bakery provided a wedding cake displayed on a stand belonging to the bride’s mother.
