Santa Barbara Mission Wedding with Summer Botanic Garden Reception

Jeff and Martha knew they wanted to get married at the Old Mission of Santa Barbara - they are members of the congregation there, and attend mass every Sunday in the historic church. Their shared love of nature and the outdoors quickly led them to plan their reception at the beautiful Santa Barbara Botanic Garden nearby. On a warm August afternoon, they said "I do" in the 205-year-old church.

After the ceremony, they shared private vows and a quiet moment for just the two of them in the historic mission courtyard. A few raindrops fell during this part of the day - just enough to give them some good luck! And then they joined their guests at the Pritzlaff Conservation Center at the Botanic Garden, where tables covered in wildflowers were waiting on the lawn overlooking the island views. This gorgeous setting was the perfect place for celebrating with their friends and loved ones, as the sun set over the Pacific Ocean and guests took in views of the mountains, gardens, and islands beyond.

Some sweet details include the fact that the bride made all of the florals, and the groom designed their invitations and signage. (Can you spot their favorite animals hidden in the wedding welcome sign?) They enjoyed dinner from local restaurant favorite Los Agaves. A cake decorated with florals from Café Ficelle was the perfect end to the meal. As night fell, they danced in the Pritzlaff and celebrated the end of a memorable day. For this local couple, their wedding was a stunning combination of history and nature, tradition and the outdoors.
