Today’s couple Alyssa and Daniel were married this year on a sunny June day in California. After finding each other on Tinder, the pair first met face-to-face back in March 2017 and have been in love ever since. And, the scenic, coastal city of Santa Barbara was the obvious choice for their wedding location.

While the groom grew up on the east coast, the bride was born in California and raised in Seattle, so Santa Barbara was a popular destination in order to visit her extended family. Locations in the city, particularly the Old Mission Santa Barbara, became near and dear to her and her family. So, they ended up choosing the historic church for the sentimental value and to keep her father—who passed away when she was little—close to their hearts. With the ceremony venue already selected, the couple also chose to incorporate other Santa Barbara landmarks into their photos and wedding day, and even utilized Santa Barbara Wedding Style’s catalog to select some amazing, local wedding vendors.

The dynamic duo of Staci and Michael Hood photographed and filmed the day which started with hair and makeup sessions with both Kelly Novobielski and Emily Lynn + Co. The bride then dressed in a gorgeous lace, long-sleeved wedding gown from Grace Loves Lace while her bridesmaids added color to the event with matching wine-colored dresses.

At the church ceremony, the bride and groom made sure to honor their families with small details. The bride’s bouquet from Flowers For Love included a charm with a photo of her dad, and the groom had two charms of his own on the inside of his jacket which honored his grandparents. The bride was walked down the aisle by her mom and brother, and the veil she wore had actually previously belonged to her mother as well. A photo shoot following the ceremony took the bride and groom to locations such as the Santa Barbara Courthouse and Arroyo Burro Beach County Park, and the bride even flaunted a fun pair of retro-looking heart-shaped sunglasses for the occasion.

At the reception, each detail was thoughtfully selected to incorporate Alyssa and Daniel’s unique personalities and cultures. To highlight the bride’s Mexican heritage, the party was held at the El Paseo Restaurant. A mariachi band from AMS Events additionally entertained guests and other fiesta-inspired decor was included. On the other hand, details including the party favors of Jordan almonds helped to celebrate the groom’s Italian culture. All in all the day couldn’t have been more perfect and smiles lit up the dance floor as the couple commemorated with guests well into the evening.
